About Rotate Image

Rotate Image turns photos 90°, 180°, or 270° and can flip them horizontally or vertically. The pixels are rewritten, so the new orientation is visible in every app — not just a flag that some viewers ignore.

How to use Rotate Image

  1. Add one or more images.
  2. Choose a turn and optional horizontal or vertical flip.
  3. Check the preview of the first image. It uses the same turn and flip as the saved files.
  4. Select Rotate images.
  5. Download files individually or all at once as a ZIP.

Examples

Sideways phone photos

Turn a batch of camera photos 90° so they open upright everywhere.

Mirror a graphic

Flip a screenshot horizontally when you need the other-handed version.

Limitations

  • Only 90° steps are offered. Arbitrary angles would resample and soften the image.
  • Image metadata (EXIF) is removed during processing.

Privacy

This tool processes everything locally in your browser tab. Your input is not uploaded to Utilhex or any third party, and it is discarded when you close or reload the page. Read the privacy policy for details.

Frequently asked questions

Are my images uploaded?

No. Images are decoded and re-encoded by your browser on your device. Utilhex never receives them.

How is this different from rotating a PDF?

Rotate PDF changes a page’s rotation attribute. This tool re-encodes image pixels so the result is upright even in apps that ignore EXIF.

Is photo metadata (EXIF) kept?

No. Re-encoding through the browser canvas removes EXIF data such as GPS location and camera details, which is usually a privacy benefit. The image is rotated upright first.
