About UUID Generator
Generate universally unique identifiers using the Web Crypto API. Version 4 UUIDs are fully random; version 7 UUIDs begin with a millisecond timestamp so they sort by creation time, which makes them well suited to database keys. You can also paste a UUID to check its version, variant, and embedded time.
How to use UUID Generator
- Choose UUID version 4 or 7.
- Set how many to generate (1–1,000) and the formatting options.
- Select Generate, then copy or download the list.
- To inspect a UUID, paste it into the inspector below the generator.
Examples
v4
Random: 3f0c6c58-2b4e-4b0e-9c51-5d1f3a7e9b20
v7
Time-ordered: 0192a3b4-7c1d-7e2f-8a3b-4c5d6e7f8091
Limitations
- UUID v7 values generated in the same millisecond are ordered using random bits, so strict ordering within a millisecond is not guaranteed.

Frequently asked questions
Is my input sent anywhere?
No. Processing happens in your browser. Utilhex does not send tool input to its servers, analytics, or any AI service.
Are these UUIDs secure?
They use crypto.getRandomValues, a cryptographically secure generator. UUIDs are identifiers, though — do not use them as secret tokens.
What is the difference between a GUID and a UUID?
GUID is Microsoft's name for the same 128-bit identifier format. The values generated here work as GUIDs.
